Why you should develop a good character


As a student you should desire to grow up into a well-mannered individual and give proper respect to people; your parents, teachers, friends and every other person you come across. Which is why character education is important in your studies, because academics alone do not bring success in life. Your character and attitude matters a lot.
Great people are usually judged by their character. Having a good character means
that you have admirable traits such as honesty, responsibility and courage. It is a good thing for you to develop a good character, it provides you with personal benefits and can enhance your grades.

A person with a good character doesn't lie, cheat or steal. Such person isn't lazy, unreliable or inconsiderate of others. Some benefits of developing a good character include:

Personal benefits: Your attitude towards your tasks, the goals you want to achieve and challenges you face are determining factors in whether or not you will be successful. Having a positive attitude towards doing difficult work is a good personal trait and will move you toward achieving your goals.

Social benefits: Your attitude and how you act towards other people at home, in school and personal relationships often determines their desire to associate with you. If you show that you are an honest person with a great amount of integrity, others will trust you. People like to associate with those they feel are reliable and responsible.


Cultural benefits: Your attitude towards the rules of your government, culture or religion will determine how others in a group view you. Often, breaking the rules can result in punishment. If you follow the laws of your government or community, you will usually benefit by being considered a law-abiding citizen.

Your good personal character will help you achieve difficult goals and tasks. A positive social character allows you to be trusted and admired by others. You should display a good character at home, school and any social gathering. This will endear you to people and is very beneficial.
